Nagasaki Outlaw

The Nagasaki Outlaw is a rugged utility task vehicle (UTV) manufactured by Nagasaki. Designed for off-road use, it is characterized by an exposed tubular chassis, aggressive suspension setup, and a compact but powerful engine that allows it to handle extreme terrain with ease. The vehicle made its first appearance in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the Diamond Casino Heist update and is set to return in Grand Theft Auto VI.

Design and Appearance

The Nagasaki Outlaw takes clear inspiration from modern side-by-side off-road vehicles, with its overall shape most closely resembling the Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo1. Other influences can be seen in details borrowed from the Can-Am Maverick Sport2, the Yamaha YXZ-1000R3, and the Polaris RZR XP 10004, blending together to create a machine that looks both authentic and uniquely suited to the world of Grand Theft Auto.

The Outlaw is defined by its aggressive, open-frame design. Its cabin is completely exposed but reinforced with a heavy-duty roll cage, while the tall rear end leaves the engine visible beneath. Oversized suspension coils dominate the profile, emphasizing its purpose-built nature. Unlike standard road vehicles, the Outlaw lacks a traditional hood or trunk, and its wide-opening, wing-like doors contribute to its distinctive silhouette.

Inside, the vehicle carries over racing-inspired elements, including a stripped-down center console and a gauge cluster with two analog dials flanking a digital display, reminiscent of the Raptor. A dashboard knob labeled "F/R" hints at selectable drive modes, likely for switching between two-wheel and four-wheel drive or engaging a locking differential. Customization options are reflected in its paint scheme, with primary colors applied to the intakes, front panels, doors, and rear sections, while secondary colors highlight the chassis, roll cage, and suspension arms.

Performance

The Nagasaki Outlaw excels in off-road conditions, where its rock crawler-inspired suspension and nimble handling allow it to tackle rough and uneven terrain with ease. Its acceleration is strong, but a limited 3-speed gearbox (expanded to 4-speed with full transmission upgrades in GTA Online ) holds back its top speed, making it less competitive in long-distance races on paved roads compared to other Off-Road class vehicles.

The vehicle uses a mid-engine, all-wheel-drive layout, powered by what appears to be a flat-twin engine. This setup provides excellent weight distribution and traction across difficult terrain. However, the Outlaw’s open-cabin design leaves the driver and passenger exposed, offering little protection from gunfire. Its large off-road tires are also vulnerable, though they can be reinforced with bulletproof upgrades.

Acquisition / Locations

The Nagasaki Outlaw has been confirmed for Grand Theft Auto VI through multiple pieces of official promotional material.

  • A green Outlaw is prominently shown taking part in a mud bogging event at the Thrillbilly Mud Club in the first trailer, establishing its role as a dedicated off-road vehicle.
  • Another highly customized variant appears in an official screenshot set in the La Perle district, suggesting the vehicle will be available in different configurations.

Information regarding its purchase price or whether it will be obtainable through in-game dealerships has not yet been disclosed.

Strategy and Usage

Based on its performance characteristics, the Outlaw is best utilized for missions and exploration in off-road environments. Its excellent handling on rough terrain makes it ideal for navigating Leonida's swamps, forests, and rural areas. However, its low top speed makes it a poor choice for high-speed pursuits on highways, and its lack of armor and window protection renders its occupants highly vulnerable during firefights.

Notable Users / Special Variants

A "heavily customized Outlaw" is visible in a promotional screenshot, suggesting that unique or distinct variants may appear in Grand Theft Auto VI.

Grand Theft Auto Online

The Nagasaki Outlaw was first added to Grand Theft Auto Online with the Diamond Casino Heist update. Initially, it appeared only as a mission-specific vehicle during the "Getaway Vehicles" preparation mission and could be selected as a getaway car for the heist finale.

It became available for general purchase on January 23, 2020, through the Southern San Andreas Super Autos website for $1,268,000. Players who completed the Diamond Casino Heist as a leader while using the Outlaw as their getaway vehicle unlocked a discounted trade price of $951,000.

Trivia

  • The interior dashboard features a knob reading "F/R," likely indicating a Front/Rear or Four/Rear wheel drive locking differential.
  • The dial cluster is very similar to the one found in the Raptor, which itself is derived from the X80 Proto.
  • The Outlaw's stock rims are identical in design to the "Flat Six" Off-Road wheels available at Los Santos Customs.
  • The engine model is visually similar to the one used on the FCR 1000 motorcycle.
  • The engine sound in GTA Online appears to be a lower-pitched, edited version of the sound used for sports bikes like the Akuma and PCJ 600.
