The Vapid Police Cruiser, often referred to as the Interceptor, is a law enforcement sedan featured in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online. It is also set to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI.
It is the primary pursuit vehicle for the Los Santos Police Department. It will be operated by the Vice City Police Department (VCPD), Vice-Dale Police Department, and Port Gellhorn Police Department in GTA 6.
Overview
Design and Inspiration
In enhanced versions of GTA V, the interior shares elements with other sedans. However, the original release included a computer terminal with a Liberty City Police database menu, which was removed in later versions.
In all appearances, the Police Cruiser takes heavy inspiration from the Ford Police Interceptor Sedan 1. The roof-mounted red-and-blue LED light bar is similar to that of other emergency vehicles in GTA V.
Locations
In GTA V, the vehicle can be found at police stations across Los Santos, patroling areas around the city. However, in GTA Online, it mostly appears only when players achieve a Wanted Level or when nearby players have wanted players.
In GTA 6, the vehicle makes multiple appearances in the first trailer, including while responding to a traffic incident on an unnamed intersection in Vice City.
