While parts of Rockstar Games' Miami campaign fight for approval, one piece just opened with a ribbon instead of a lawsuit. Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar have partnered with Wynwood Walls, Miami's famous outdoor street-art museum, on a Grand Theft Auto VI activation built around art, free local access and the neighborhood that helped inspire the game. Vice City is coming to Wynwood. For once, there is no visible pushback.

With this partnership, every Miami-Dade County resident can get into the Wynwood Walls Museum for free until 2028. All you need is a valid photo or student ID showing a Miami-Dade address and you can add the free membership to your Apple or Google Wallet. Children under 12 are always free and residents can add family members under 18.

There is new art to go with the access as well. The partnership brings new murals from artists featured in GTA 6, with the announcement putting the number at ten, on view through January 1, 2027 around the museum and the surrounding streets. A companion merch line, "The Art of Vice City," is up for pre-order now, designed with street artists whose work appears in the next Grand Theft Auto. The lineup runs from a Tristan Eaton Leonida tee to a D*Face laptop sleeve, a FAILE cap and a Queen Andrea Vice City beach towel.

Wynwood as a venue is a deliberate choice. It is one of the most recognizable street-art districts in the country. Rockstar has long drawn on it. In fact, the neighborhood is widely credited as the inspiration for the street-art side of the game's recreated Miami, so putting GTA 6 murals on real Wynwood walls reads as a homecoming rather than an ad.

So, basically, after GTA 6 borrowed much of its aesthetic from Wynwood, it is giving something back.

We have tracked every side of Rockstar's Miami push so far over the past week and this one stands apart. The government tracks have hit friction. Miami-Dade commissioners are pushing back on using county facilities to promote a crime-themed game and the Miami Beach beach-branding deal has stalled short of a signature. All the while, the private deals, like the Kaseya Center sign and the Heat's Vice City night, kept moving. The Wynwood partnership goes one better. It is positive, it sits in the community and free museum access is hard to protest.

Of all the ways Rockstar is putting GTA 6 into real Miami, this is the one that has drawn no visible fight so far. It trades billboards for murals and public infrastructure for a museum, right in the neighborhood that shaped the game's look. This way, by the time GTA 6 arrives on November 19, it will come with a little piece of Vice City already hanging on Wynwood's walls.
