You do not have to drive yourself everywhere in Grand Theft Auto VI. Bus stops, train stations, trams, taxis and RydeMe offer fast-travel options. Buses and trains also make functioning journeys through Leonida.13
Riding buses and trains
Public transport is part of the world rather than just background traffic. During development, Phil Hooker checks that buses arrive on their routes and rides them across Leonida.3
Bus stops, train stations and trams also provide fast-travel options.1 The sources establish transport choices, but do not publish a route map, timetable, fare list or the exact interaction for skipping a journey.
Taxis and RydeMe
RydeMe is a taxi app with a fast-travel function. You can also have conversations with another passenger during the ride, so the journey can be something to stay with rather than immediately skip.2
The phone apps reference covers RydeMe alongside the other apps. Its purpose is different from Waink, which supplies vehicle-theft information, or Scooter Bros, which retrieves a personal vehicle.
Scooter Bros brings your car
Scooter Bros is a delivery service for a vehicle you already have. A driver brings it to your location for a fee, then leaves on a scooter carried along for the trip.3
The driver brings the car to you, saving you the trip to collect it. The vehicle theft and storage reference explains how personal vehicles, registration and recovery fit together.
Choosing between the services
For a trip without driving, buses, trains and taxis provide different ways to move through the world. To get back behind the wheel of your own car, use the separate delivery option.
Delivery involves a short wait. Leaving a getaway car nearby before a robbery avoids relying on an app call once the hold-up is underway.3
