This will likely be the last opportunity to experience the game on PlayStation Plus before GTA 6 arrives next year.
Rockstar's open-world game Grand Theft Auto 5 is making a return to PlayStation Plus later this month. Starting November 19, the game will be available to download for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers.
This marks the third time GTA V has been included in PlayStation's subscription service. The game was previously part of PlayStation Plus in December 2021, where it remained available for 6 months. It was then removed again in June this year after another six-month stint on the platform, only to now be added back, presumably once again for six months.
The inclusion of GTA V is part of a strong November lineup for PlayStation Plus. In addition to the best-selling open-world title, subscribers will also get access to Dying Light 2: Stay Human, another major open-world game that launched earlier this year.
For those who somehow haven't played GTA V before or want to experience it on the latest hardware, this is a great opportunity. The game originally launched in 2013 but has been consistently updated and remastered, with a native PlayStation 5 version released in 2022.
PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers provide access to a large catalog of PS4 and PS5 games that subscribers can download and play. The Premium tier also includes the ability to stream classic games from past PlayStation consoles. Subscribing to PS+ Extra will cost you $14.99 per month, while the latter costs $17.99 per month.
With less than a year before GTA 6 makes its much-awaited debut, now is the perfect time for lapsed GTA fans or newcomers to the series to dive into the sprawling world of Los Santos and Blaine County in GTA 5. The game's addition to PlayStation Plus should help drive engagement ahead of the next mainline installment in the acclaimed franchise.
Speaking of PlayStation Plus, GTA: San Andreas and Red Dead Redemption 2 are also leaving the subscription service this month. Neither title will be available from November 18.
