Vapid Speedo

The Vapid Speedo is a cargo van made by Vapid that appears in Grand Theft Auto IV, Grand Theft Auto V, Grand Theft Auto Online and the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI. GTA Online also uses modified Speedos for the Nightclub delivery vehicle and the travelling Gun Van.

Overview

The standard Speedo is a compact commercial van built for carrying cargo rather than speed. Its enclosed rear body and plain appearance make it a common mission and service vehicle across the HD Universe games.

Design

The Speedo closely resembles the Chevrolet Express cargo van, while its front and rear details also resemble Ford's E-Series vans.⁴⁵

Standard Speedo

Standard Speedos appear in traffic and missions in GTA IV and GTA V. Lamar Davis uses a white example in GTA V, and Phil Bell uses a Speedo during "To Live and Die in Alderney" in GTA IV.

The van's upright body and short wheelbase make it easy to place in traffic and narrow service areas, but it is less stable and slower to accelerate than most passenger cars.

Speedo Custom

GTA Online's After Hours update introduced the Speedo Custom as the Nightclub's first delivery vehicle. It can be fitted with armor, weapons and other modifications through the Nightclub's vehicle workshop.³

The Speedo Custom is a separate functional variant rather than a cosmetic version of the ordinary traffic van.

Gun Van

The Gun Van is another Vapid Speedo variant. It moves between locations and sells a rotating selection of weapons, ammunition and armor without ordinary rank requirements.²

GTA VI

A Speedo appears among the highway traffic around Vice City in the opening section of the first official GTA VI trailer.¹
