Rockstar Games has announced the next major DLC to grace GTA Online — Import/Export. After three years' worth of DLC, the immensely popular open world action-adventure game drifted a tad far from its roots as well as its name. Instead of stealing large quantities of cars, players were setting up their own illegal criminal syndicates, stunting on impossible courses littered with deathtraps and running their own motorcycle clubs.
In December, GTA is going back to its roots in the latest major update. The wording of Rockstar's announcement makes it sound like Import/Export is something of a DLC sequel to Further Adventures in Finance and Felony, as the new content will be building upon the CEO mechanics introduced earlier this year.
Savvy CEOs know there's always more for the taking. While Special Cargo business in Southern San Andreas is booming, another opportunity to expand your hold on the city awaits. With GTA Online: Import/Export it's time to muscle into the lucrative and specialized field of high-volume exotic car theft.
The new update will be introducing a new game mechanic that will likely be akin to what we've seen with the crate missions in Finance and Felony as well as the product selling missions in Bikers. This time around, players will be tasked with stealing unique high-value vehicles, modifying them in special chop-shops, and selling them on the black market for a profit.
According to the reveal, this new mechanic will have players focused on activities inside the city, whereas crate missions usually took CEOs out into the country. The specifics of the new vehicle stealing mechanic have yet to be revealed, however based on the systems introduced in previous updates, we're surely looking at something more in-depth than the Simeon assignments.
It will take talent, coordination and the tactical use of some brand new Special Vehicles to get the job done, all while staying one step ahead of the police and rival challengers from across the city and countryside
The announcement itself seems to back this up, claiming that stealing these special high-value vehicles will require teamwork and the use of some special vehicles. Only one of these has been teased so far, being a wedge-on-wheels presumably used to toss other cars into the air ahead of you, allowing you to speed through traffic unhindered.
In terms of new special mission-related properties, akin to the warehouses of Finance and Felony and the businesses from Bikers, Import/Export will be adding vehicle warehouses, where you can store and modify your newly acquired special rides before selling them off for some stacks.
