Will any new PS5 game ship on a physical disc after January 31, 2028?

2029-01-15T23:59:00Z A New PS5 Disc Ships (by Dec 31, 2028). At least one first-release PS5 title includes an official retail game disc after Jan 31, 2028. Resolves YES if any video game whose first commercial PS5 release date is after Jan 31, 2028 is sold with an officially licensed PS5 physical game disc (pressed Blu‑ray) by Dec 31, 2028, in any territory. Qualifying evidence requires: (1) an official SIE/PlayStation channel or the game’s publisher/developer product page, press release, or packaging details explicitly confirming a PS5 disc; or (2) if official pages are ambiguous, widely fulfilled retailer listings plus verifiable consumer or media unboxing showing a PS5 game disc and retail packaging with a valid PS5 SKU/UPC. Limited-run or special editions count if officially licensed and the title’s first PS5 release is after Jan 31, 2028. Reprints, reissues, or new disc SKUs for games whose first PS5 release was on or before Jan 31, 2028 do not count. Data-disc compilations of previously released PS5 games do not count unless the compilation itself is the first PS5 release of that content as a new title. No New PS5 Discs in 2028. No qualifying first-release PS5 physical disc ships through Dec 31, 2028. Resolves NO if, through 11:59 pm UTC on Dec 31, 2028, no video game whose first commercial PS5 release is after Jan 31, 2028 is sold on an officially licensed PS5 physical game disc in any territory, per the same evidence rules. In case of conflicting information, source hierarchy applies: (1) official SIE/PlayStation channels; (2) publisher/developer pages or press materials; (3) physical packaging details and verified unboxings; (4) major retailers with fulfilled orders. If sources conflict and no higher-tier confirmation exists, the higher-tier source governs; if still unresolved, this option wins.
