50 Cent is working on "Vice City" but it's not what GTA fans were expecting.

After teasing something related to Rockstar Games' iconic open-world title, Deadline confirms that 50 Cent's G-Unit Film & Television is working on a new original series that will premiere on Paramount+.

Here's what Deadline said about Vice City:

An original idea from writers and executive producers Darnell Metayer (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts) and Josh Peters (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts), with Chad Stahelski (John Wick franchise) serving as executive producer/director.

You'd be forgiven if you thought the Vice City TV show is related to the classic Rockstar title.

As per the announcement, the show's plot will follow the story of dishonorably discharged soldiers who go home to Miami in the mid-80s. The trio's supposed involvement in the Iran Contra scandal leaves them with little to no money and zero job prospects. As the three friends struggle to make a living, they decide to partner up with an unnamed Colombian immigrant and use their talents to make bank.

The GTA-esque plot will give you hope that it's associated with GTA, somehow, but don't count on it.

The wait for more official GTA 6 information continues.

And, just like that, we're back to square one when it comes to GTA 6. Still, the good news is that a trusted insider clued us in on what's going on with GTA 6. Apparently, Rockstar wants the game out either in late 2024 and early 2025. It's such a hard deadline that Rockstar is apparently willing to cut content and repackage it as DLC for GTA 6. We'll see.
