Rockstar and Epic are giving vague answers about GTA V's enhanced version availability on Epic Games Store.
Players who purchased Grand Theft Auto V (or got it for free) through the Epic Games Store are particularly concerned at the moment as Rockstar Games and Epic Games have been reluctant to provide clear answers about the availability of Grand Theft Auto V Expanded and Enhanced on the platform.
In an attempt to clarify the situation, one user on Reddit went ahead and inquired with both Rockstar and Epic regarding its availability on the Epic Games Store.
Surprisingly, both companies responded with vague and evasive answers, refusing to provide a simple yes or no. Although most argue that this is a moot point considering that it's a free update, the ambiguous responses from both companies are a cause for concern.
We can only assume that all legal copies of GTA 5 will receive the update. Otherwise, keeping it exclusive to platforms like Steam and the Rockstar Games Launcher would be unfair to paying customers.
According to a link shared by Tez2, the update is indeed coming to the Epic Games Store. While the linked sandbox currently appears empty, Rockstar can easily populate it hours ahead of the release date.
Nevertheless, with pre-loading on both Rockstar Games Launcher and Steam already available, it's understandable why some players are frustrated about the lack of transparency from both Rockstar and Epic. It's possible that there's some behind-the-scenes negotiation or technical issues causing the delay.
With less than 24 hours until the scheduled release, GTA V players on the Epic Games Store are left in limbo, hoping for a last-minute clarification from either Rockstar or Epic. The coming hours will reveal whether the concerns are justified or if they'll join other players in experiencing the new features and improvements in Los Santos.
Speaking of Rockstar, Take-Two Interactive recently announced that the studio has added a tenth subsidiary by acquiring Video Games Deluxe. Composed of Team Bondi employees, the Sydney-based studio will now go by the name of Rockstar Australia.
