The latest patch is tackling stability issues across current gen consoles and fixing bugs.
Rockstar Games has rolled out its first update of the year for Grand Theft Auto Online in 2025. The new patch, released yesterday, primarily addresses stability issues and bug fixes across current-generation consoles.
PlayStation 5 users will find a relatively modest 281MB download, while Xbox Series X/S owners face a larger 700MB update. The patch brings the game version to 1.008.001 on PS5 and 1.8.1.0 on Xbox Series X/S.
Key Improvements
The update tackles several critical issues that players have been experiencing, including:
- Fixed multiple crash scenarios in GTA Online's general gameplay
- Resolved a specific crash during the 'Gather Intel' mission in The Cayo Perico Heist on Xbox Series X/S
- Addressed a crash issue during the 'Pack Man' mission in GTAV's story mode on Xbox Series X/S
This patch also follows a recent server-side update that addressed several quirky issues, including:
- Fixed overlapping tattoos when switching between characters
- Resolved an amusing but problematic bug where the Terminus Patrol vehicle's windows would detach and pile up on the ground when changing roof options
- Patched an exploit that allowed players to use the Terrorbyte's Collectible Scanner in single-player mode
Meanwhile, players can attempt to infiltrate the heavily guarded Fort Zancudo military base as they await the next weekly GTA Online update that will be revealed tomorrow, unless Rockstar decides to drop the second trailer for GTA 6 instead.
