Daniel Radcliffe Landed the GTA Docudrama Role With Rapping

We're serious. This actually happened. Remember that ill fated, poorly produced and revoltingly biased BBC documentary based on the controversy surrounding GTA, and its attempted banning by lawyer Jack Thompson? The one that entered production without Rockstar's consent or counsel? The one that was ripped apart by critics? The one Rockstar stated was "made up bullshit"? The one which had nothing but the name of Daniel Radcliffe, known most for his role as Harry Potter, going for it?

Well, if you don't, we'll forgive you, as The Gamechangers was all in all a terrible and forgettable "docudrama". In fact, the following little piece of trivia is probably the most interesting thing about the whole affair!

It all started with Daniel Radcliffe's appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he performed the hit rap song "Alphabet Aerobics" by Blackalacious earlier this year.

His performance was admirable, and came as quite a surprise to fans and film producers alike.

When I went on Jimmy Fallon and rapped a Blackalicious song, I got a job off that--playing Sam Houser in The Game Changers, the movie about Grand Theft Auto. It made the guy in charge go, 'Oh, he's interested in hip-hop. He's not just a typical posh white boy'.

After that performance, it only took a few months for his role in the Gamechangers to be confirmed officially. It was about that time that anyone actually began to talk about the film, and Radcliffe was more or less the only effective venue of marketing (next to the controversy with the legal action, maybe) that the BBC production had.

Being mostly known, or, in some cases exclusively known, for his role in the film adaptation of J. K. Rowling's famous book series Harry Potter, Radcliffe has latched on to any chance to show-off his acting skills in a more varied way since that series ended.
