GTA 6 Trailer's Stunning PS5 Visuals Make the Strongest Case Yet for a PS5 Pro

However, subsequent reports have dampened the excitement. It certainly doesn't help that Sony hasn't had too many games taking advantage of the improved hardware - yet. Over the past few months, more and more developers have begun supporting the PS5 Pro, releasing graphical enhancements for their games.

Rockstar, too, has begun teasing GTA 6 -like graphics by backporting features that should technically be available only on current-gen consoles to the latest version of Grand Theft Auto V, Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced, on the PC. With the PS5 Pro expected to benefit from AMD's incoming FSR-inspired technology, GTA 6 could look even better on it when it finally becomes available on May 26, 2026.

Of course, this is only one reason to pick up a PS5 Pro as soon as possible. Financially, it's just wiser to do it right now. With the tariffs expected to force Sony (and Rockstar) to raise the retail prices of their video games and consoles after Xbox and Nintendo kicked off the inevitable trend, it's only a matter of time before the PS5 Pro starts to retail above its current $699.99 price tag.

This all depends on perspective, of course - another way of looking it at might even speak in favor of keeping a trusty base PS5. Who knows how much the Pro will improve on the visuals if the game looks this good on a vanilla machine?

In a way, despite the delay, GTA 6 will still help Sony set what looks like a new record for console sales in a fiscal year. If this doesn't prove the long-rumored marketing deal between Sony and Rockstar, we don't know what will.
