During a recent financial call, Ronald van Veen, Corsair Gaming's VP of finance, suggested that Grand Theft Auto 6 would launch on consoles in fall 2025, followed by a PC release in early 2026. Naturally this set off alarm bells across the internet and way too many people took it at face value - but now the company has clarified that this isn't some form of subtle hint at insider information.

In a statement sent to IGN, Corsair revealed that van Veen's comments were purely speculative. The company emphasized that they have not received any release date information from Rockstar Games or its parent company, Take-Two Interactive. For what it's worth, you can't exactly blame Corsair nor its executives, including its CEO who made a similar statement, from making this kind of educated guess.

Rockstar has consistently prioritized console launches for its major titles, with PC versions typically following months or even years later. While this strategy has caused a lot of frustration for PC gamers, who often find themselves waiting extended periods to experience Rockstar's latest offerings, we've since found out that there's a perfectly good reason Rockstar and Take-Two prefer to sell their games on consoles first.
