New job listings reveal a major investment in a creator platform, suggesting GTA 6 is being built to be a 'forever' game.
A few months back, we covered an unconfirmed rumor that Rockstar Games is planning on turning Grand Theft Auto 6 into the next creator platform following the success of Fortnite and Roblox while building on the foundation laid by Grand Theft Auto Online.
Fast forward to today, and a couple of job listings have all but confirmed that Rockstar is a few steps closer into turning this into a reality. As initially spotted by Digiday, Rockstar has opened up spots for a senior product manager and an associate compliance manager for their creator platforms team.

The positions seem ordinary enough on the surface. This isn't the first time Rockstar has posted hirings only for nothing came out of it, after all. However, dig deeper, and you'll find evidence that somehow proves the earlier rumors that Grand Theft Auto 7 will never exist.
Unlike previous positions that focused on maintaining existing systems, these new roles are explicitly about building the future of the Grand Theft Auto franchise.
For example, the senior product manager will develop creator monetization tools, addressing a common pain point among UHC platforms. On the other hand, the compliance manager will help navigate the complex legal and safety issues that come with user-generated content.
What makes this particularly significant is the audience difference and how GTA can separate itself from the competition. While Fortnite and Roblox primarily attract younger players, GTA has predominantly been an adult franchise, which is why Grand Theft Auto V was only recently greenlit for release in certain countries.
Turning GTA 6 into the next creator platform opens up entirely new possibilities for brands and creators who want to reach the 20-to-40 demographic that's traditionally been harder to engage in these virtual worlds.
The current GTARP community has created incredibly sophisticated roleplay servers using tools that were never designed for that purpose. Players become cops, criminals, business owners, and everyday citizens in elaborate virtual societies. Many streamers have built entire careers around these servers, with Adin Ross even already planning on jumping on the GTA 6 hype train a year ahead of its release.
With proper creator tools built into GTA 6 from day one, the potential expands exponentially. We could see racing games, action adventures, social experiences, and genres that haven't even been invented yet.
Ironically, this could potentially mean that creators could develop sequels to "forgotten" Rockstar franchises like Bully and Midnight Club within this theoretical GTA metaverse.
