Rockstar's scrapped plans for aliens in GTA V have been revealed.
While Grand Theft Auto V continues to have an endless supply of activities to do, especially with the constant updates to Grand Theft Auto Online, some things didn't - and still haven't - made the cut. Over the years, fans have uncovered proof of content that Rockstar Games, for one reason or another, started but decided not to add or repurpose at a slightly lesser capacity. Case in point, a recent discovery that proved that aliens were supposed to play a bigger role in Los Santos than anyone ever imagined.
In a post on GTAForums, user Antasurris dropped screenshots of a bunker at Fort Zancudo containing aliens, including three completely laid out on tables and just as many floating inside cryochamber tanks. They ended their post by saying that the discover is "honestly bigger than I expected." As explained by @videotechuk , the source of the screenshots are the drawable files from the original release of GTA V _on the PS3, which, until now, no one could open.
Now that they've been unlocked, don't be surprised if we see more information about what else Rockstar removed from_ GTA V _at the last minute or dropped and never looked back on. To be fair though, Rockstar doesn't always remove content completely - as previously mentioned, they've repurposed certain parts of the content they initially worked on for single-player expansions for_ GTA V **', later adding them to GTA Online.
While the verdict is still out on whether parts of the Agent Trevor DLC will ever make it to GTA Online, especially now that Grand Theft Auto 6 is only a few months away, we might just see Rockstar use aliens more as part of future events. After all, Rockstar recently added zombies to GTA Online in one of the game's most successful events ever.
Who's to say that giving aliens a more prominent role wouldn't be a much bigger draw, especially if they're somehow connected to the unsolved in-game mysteries? We're not just talking about costumes or UFOs flying around and shooting, we're talking about full Alien invasions in GTA Online, possibly as part of a DLC content.
It wouldn't be the worst idea to "end" GTA Online with an all-out war between the citizens of Los Santos and aliens, complete with a cameo from Michael De Santa, who, for some reason, still hasn't reappeared in GTA Online unlike Trevor Philips and Franklin Clinton. Speaking of GTA Online, returning players might want to check if they're eligible to receive free money from Rockstar just for logging back into the game.
