Rockstar job posting points to PC version of GTA V

featured-rockstarWe’ve said it before that Grand Theft Auto V is not coming to the PC for a while yet, if ever… or is it? A job posting over at Rockstar Games (since removed) makes for some very interesting reading, as follows:

Rockstar Leeds are currently looking for a talented graphics programmer to help bring our latest titles to the PC platform. Working together with the other Rockstar studios, you will be responsible for maintaining the studio’s uncompromising quality bar, delivering the highest quality PC experience possible.

The key words being “bring our latest titles to the PC platform“. Given that Rockstar doesn’t have any recent titles that need porting to the PC (note the inclusion of the word “recent” – we know that Red Dead Redemption still hasn’t made it…) one would have to think there is a good chance that “latest titles” in fact means the very soon to be released GTA 5 (L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3 are both already on PC).

If true, this would be very big news indeed for the mass of fans crying for a PC version of GTA V to be announced. While some have been claiming that they will hold off on purchasing a console version of the game in order to wait for a PC version (which we very much doubt many will have the willpower to do), this new glimmer of hope will be very welcome news to those without an Xbox or Playstation at all.

Just don’t expect Rockstar themselves to confirm anything for a long time.

When he isn’t tweaking the content on GTA BOOM, you’ll find him working on the server or making other improvements to hopefully make the site better. Other than that, Trevor enjoys getting outside in the sunshine!

  1. Cool, they’re looking for PC programmers 1 month away from the game release. This just killed any remaining hope for a possible pc surprise by September.

    1. They were very unlikely to do this anyway, otherwise a PC version would have been announced next to the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. The PC port was always going to come much later (if there is one – remember R* have said nothing official)!

  2. Rockstar Toronto does the PC ports, but Rockstar Leeds hasnt been part of a game since LA Noire, so its possible. either that or one of the DS/PSP games

  3. Sounds promising to me… RDR too old. Max Payne 3 and LA Noire both already on PC. What does that leave? GTA V!
