Rockstar Games is just flexing at this point.
It might be more appropriate to call the people over at Rockstar Games wizards as opposed to developers for what they're doing with Grand Theft Auto 6. Over one and a half years since dropping the first GTA 6 trailer, Rockstar once again stunned the entire world with its surprise follow-up.
Officially just the third piece of marketing material released for GTA 6 (the second was a piece of artwork), the second GTA 6 trailer is a detail-filled smorgasbord of visual eye candy that, according to Rockstar, might get even better come May 26, 2026.
Shortly after releasing the second trailer and dropping a hint that the entire footage used clips from a base PS5 version of GTA 6, Rockstar went ahead and flexed on pretty much every other video game company. Rockstar's official account on X confirmed that the second GTA 6 trailer was "captured entirely in-game from a PlayStation 5, comprised of equal parts gameplay and cutscenes."
If the screenshots below we're about to show isn't some form of magic, we don't know what is.

We've known for a while that the company's proprietary RAGE engine can help Rockstar achieve what others can only dream of, with Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced previously teasing what GTA 6 could look like - but no one would've expected GTA 6 to look this good, so soon, and on a PS5. The base PS5 is a five-year-old console at this point, with hardware that's more akin to a low- to mid-end gaming PC.
GTA 6 shouldn't look this good on a PS5, which makes you wonder just how much better it would look on a PS5 Pro. Former Rockstar Games animator Mike York is particularly excited for the future of GTA 6 after initially expressing doubts about its performance on the base PS5.
Given that Rockstar is clearly putting the extra time to good use (and without subjecting employees to crunch), it's hard to imagine what kind of graphical leap GTA 6 will take next on a PS5 Pro, let alone on the in-development PC port and, eventually, the PlayStation 6.
