Few games define the 2000s era of gaming more than Rockstar Games' trinity of classics, Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. So, when Rockstar Games confirmed all three will be re-released and remastered on modern platforms under a new title, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, fans could barely contain their excitement.

But, what was supposed to be a joyous launch was mired by problems that have yet to be solved more than a year later.

With that said, most GTA fans would love nothing more than to play the OG GTA games without having to buy them exclusively from the Rockstar Store.

Now, according to a trusted insider, fans won't have to wait too long to do just that.
Billbill-kun, a Twitter user that's been accurately leaking info about PlayStation Plus for over a year, claims that Rockstar will release the remastered GTA Trilogy on January 19 at 4:00 PM UTC and sell the bundle for 50% off for the first seven days.
The same source couldn't quite confirm a Steam release, but we can only assume that it's also coming to Valve's digital games distribution platform unless Epic Games paid a hefty sum for exclusivity.
It's unclear if making the GTA Definitive Edition trilogy available on Steam and the Epic Games Store will make it run any better than it did upon the initial console release, but it probably can't hurt.
