Rockstar Games dropped a major hotfix for Grand Theft Auto Online yesterday, addressing numerous bugs that emerged with the recent Mansions update. The patch tackled issues across mansions, the new mission creator, and various gameplay systems.

The luxury mansion properties introduced in A Safehouse in the Hills DLC looked impressive but launched with several technical problems. The most serious bug caused players to lose HSW upgrades, special liveries, and vehicle modifications when using mansion garages. Unfortunately, affected players need to repurchase and reapply these upgrades themselves as there's no automatic restoration.

Other mansion fixes addressed bizarre issues like pets falling through floors and dying, floating cigars in the cigar room when players accepted invites mid-smoke, and players spawning under the map when renovating their properties. The Tongva Estate had its own specific problem where the entrance buzzer simply wouldn't work. Mansion trophies that refused to unlock despite meeting requirements are now functioning properly.

Entrance buzzer issues of the Tongva Estate have now been fixed.

Rockstar also fixed a frustrating scenario where players got kicked from their mansions when someone else in the session started a freemode event and resolved an issue preventing taxi work completion when drop-off locations happened to be at player-owned mansions. Motorcycle club members will appreciate that their radio no longer cuts out when the leader fast-travels away.

The mission creator, which lets players build custom missions for the community, shipped with several workflow-breaking bugs. Actors would throw placement errors when unrelated vehicles were deleted, and objects disappeared when removing actors. The "Go To Location" objectives completed instantly with certain settings enabled, defeating their purpose entirely. Invite text incorrectly showed "0-8 players" instead of "1-8 players," and the number of lives setting didn't apply until players opened a specific menu.

Beyond mansions and creation tools, Rockstar patched mission-blocking bugs in "Home Sweet Home" and fixed a missing cutscene trigger in "A Clean Break" after helicopter chases. The Progen Luiva sports car had a cosmetic issue where spoiler upgrades would disconnect when deployed, which has been corrected. Japanese text that went missing in "Trash Talking" is back where it belongs.

The December update maintains Rockstar's pattern of releasing content alongside inevitable bug fixes, though the mansion garage issue of losing expensive upgrades was costly for affected players. With the main Christmas update still cooking, this hotfix clears the deck for whatever seasonal content comes next.
