The holiday season in Grand Theft Auto Online has officially commenced, heralding a festive transformation in Los Santos. This latest update, consistent with Rockstar's tradition of seasonal updates, brings a fresh wave of holiday-themed content, including the long-awaited return of snow, festive modes, and an array of new gear.
Grand Theft Auto Online, a game that has maintained a steady popularity since its initial launch on PS3 and Xbox 360 ten years ago, continues to thrive, partly due to Rockstar's commitment to regular content updates.
These updates range from minor patches to significant additions such as new heists, game modes, and story expansions. This year's holiday update in GTA Online is particularly noteworthy due to its timing. The update closely follows the reveal of the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer earlier in the month. Fans are already dissecting the reference-filled GTA 6 trailer for details, from the realistic body physics to the male and female protagonists, and eagerly anticipating its release in the next couple of years.
In the meantime, GTA Online players can immerse themselves in the holiday spirit, which you'll learn more about below:
- 2X GTA$ and RP on Snowball Fights
- 2X GTA$ and RP on Entourage (Festive Remix)
- 2X GTA$ and RP on Drift Races (4X for GTA+ members)
The holiday update includes several weeks of free gifts for players who log in. From December 21 to 27, gifts include the Snowball Launcher, festive hats, a Candy Cane weapon, and more.
The following week, players can unlock New Year's-themed hats and glasses. In addition to these freebies, the update reintroduces popular events like fighting The Gooch and participating in the Weazel Plaza Shootout, with rewards like the Snowman Outfit, Gooch Outfit, and the WM 29 pistol available for players.
