The Karin Intruder is a four-door sedan manufactured by Karin that is expected to return in Grand Theft Auto VI. The vehicle has been featured in several previous installments, including Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Grand Theft Auto IV, Grand Theft Auto V, and Grand Theft Auto Online. It returns from the 3D Universe where it was designed as a compact sedan, evolving into a higher-class, sports-oriented sedan in the HD Universe.
The Karin Intruder is a recurring four-door sedan that has evolved in design and class throughout its appearances. In the HD Universe, it is depicted as a sporty, higher-class vehicle, assuming a role previously held by cars like the Emperor. It is known for its reasonable performance, which balances speed and handling, making it a versatile choice for cruising and light-performance driving. Its design is heavily inspired by Infiniti models from the 2000s1. The Intruder was seen in the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, confirming its return in the State of Leonida.
The design of the Intruder has been updated for its appearance in Grand Theft Auto VI, building upon its HD Universe foundation.
Grand Theft Auto IV
Making its debut in the HD Universe, the Intruder features a sporty yet upscale design. Its front end is smooth and rounded, with a large bumper, dual air intakes, and rectangular fog lamps. The grille is a staple design, while the sizeable headlamp housings combine large circular lights with smaller inner elements.
The interior is shared with the Imponte DF8-90, displaying Imponte logos on the steering wheel and seats. Chrome accents appear on the grille, door handles, and around the windows, with these elements painted in a contrasting secondary color.
Grand Theft Auto V and Online
The Intruder’s design in Grand Theft Auto V remains largely consistent with its appearance in GTA IV. The primary change is that the secondary-colored trims have been replaced with a permanent chrome finish. The updated version of the game also features a more detailed interior, incorporating the "Feroci" style dials seen in other vehicles such as the Stratum and Ingot.
Grand Theft Auto VI
In Grand Theft Auto VI, as shown in the first official trailer, the Intruder appears to be heavily inspired by the 2005–2006 Infiniti Q452. The vehicle includes a detailed, colored interior and a combination of chrome and plastic accents around the side windows. A Karin badge is visible on the trunk.
The trailer features several instances of the Intruder:
The Intruder was also briefly spotted in the September 2022 leaks, parked at Cipher Mall and as a possible LOD model on a highway.
While specific performance data for Grand Theft Auto VI is not yet available, the Intruder's performance in previous titles offers a useful reference point.
Grand Theft Auto IV
The Intruder is not a top-tier performance vehicle, but it delivers respectable acceleration and a high top speed. Handling is solid, with manageable oversteer at lower speeds, and its firm suspension supports cornering. Braking is average, with standard ABS. It is powered by a 4.3-liter V8 engine paired with a 5-speed gearbox, producing a loud, high-revving engine note similar to the Schafter.
Grand Theft Auto V and Online
Performance is slightly improved from GTA IV. The Intruder handles and brakes better than many sedans, while acceleration remains average but its top speed remains high. With upgrades from Los Santos Customs, it can compete with lower-end Sports class vehicles. The 4.3-liter V8 and 5-speed gearbox are retained, but the engine produces a smoother, mid-revving sound. It can reach a top speed of 172.60 km/h (107.25 mph) when fully upgraded in GTA V and GTA Online3.
The full range of customization options for the Intruder in Grand Theft Auto VI has not yet been revealed. In Grand Theft Auto V, players could modify the vehicle at Los Santos Customs. Notably, it was possible to recreate the look of the "Intruder VX" from GTA IV, including the body kit, spoiler, and "VX" badging.
In Grand Theft Auto VI, the Intruder has been spotted in traffic on a freeway in the State of Leonida and at an intersection in Vice City. Details on how players can acquire the vehicle have not yet been revealed.
In previous titles, the Intruder was relatively common:
In Grand Theft Auto Online, the Intruder was a popular sedan thanks to its low price and well-rounded performance.
