The Game Awards 2024 was the eleventh annual awards ceremony honoring achievements in the video game industry, held on December 12, 2024. The event was particularly notable for the Grand Theft Auto series, as Grand Theft Auto VI secured the award for Most Anticipated Game. The show's main highlight was Astro Bot, which won Game of the Year.
Hosted by creator and producer Geoff Keighley and directed by Richard Preuss, The Game Awards 2024 was held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles1. The live event featured musical performances and award presentations from a range of celebrity guests, including d4vd, Royal & the Serpent, Snoop Dogg, Twenty One Pilots, Harrison Ford, Hideo Kojima, and Aaron Paul.
The most decorated title of the night was Astro Bot, which led the event with seven nominations and took home four awards, including the coveted Game of the Year.
While The Game Awards is known for featuring world premieres and announcements for upcoming games, the most prominent featured content relevant to the Grand Theft Auto series was the "Most Anticipated Game" award.
